Sofitel Frankfurt Opera is a luxury hotel in Frankfurt, Germany. It is part of the French Sofitel chain of luxury hotels, and is located in the Opera Quarter and in the centre of the central business district known unofficially as the Bankenviertel (Banking District), in the Inner City district. The hotel is facing the Opera Square with the Old Opera on one side, the upmarket street Hochstraße on another side and the Wallanlagen park on the third side. The Opernplatz (Opera Square) is a central city square in Frankfurt, Germany, located in the district of Innenstadt (Inner City) and within the central business district known as the Bankenviertel (Banking District). The Opernplatz is the most central square of the Bankenviertel. It is named for the Alte Oper (Old Opera) building, which today serves as a concert hall. Peter Manuel Feldmann (born 7 October 1958) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). On 25 March 2012, he was elected Mayor of Frankfurt as successor of Petra Roth (CDU). The Presidential suite gained its name during the Woodrow Wilson presidency (1913–1921) because on each of his political trips away from Washington, he would insist on having a hotel room conform to specific requirements for his visit.
