The city is situated on the Sochi River, along the Black Sea in the North Caucasus of Southern Russia, with a population of 466,078 residents, and up to 600,000 residents in the urban area. Sochi stretches across , and is the longest city in Europe, the fifth-largest city in the Southern Federal District, the second-largest city in Krasnodar Krai, and the sixth-largest city on the Black Sea. The Commercial Sea Port of Sochi () is a seaport on the Black Sea, the main focus of which is marine passenger transportation. Its headquarters is in the Tsentralny city district, Sochi, city district of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Russia. Overview The port has two passenger berths that have a total length of 330 m, and can accommodate vessels up to 220 meters with a draft of 8.5 m. The port does not freeze; marine navigation is possible year round.
