Sofia
Sofia is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Bulgaria, largest city of Bulgaria. It is situated in the Sofia Valley at the foot of the Vitosha mountain, in the western part of the country. The city is built west of the Iskar (river), Iskar river and has many mineral springs, such as the Sofia Central Mineral Baths. It has a humid continental climate. The Sofia Valley (), or Sofia Field (), is situated in central western Bulgaria. It is the second of the succession of the eleven Sub-Balkan valleys in direction west–east and is the largest of them in area and population. Largo, Sofia
The Largo (, definite form Ларгото, ''Largoto'') is an architectural ensemble of three Socialist Classicism buildings around Independence Square () in central Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It was designed and built in the 1950s with the intention of becoming the city's new representative centre. Today it is regarded as one of the prime examples of Socialist Classicism architecture in Southeastern Europe, as well as one of the main landmarks of Sofia. National Palace Of Culture
The National Palace of Culture (, ; abbreviated as , NDK), located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is one of the largest multifunctional conference and cultural centers in the world. It was opened in 1981 in celebration of Bulgaria's 1300th anniversary. The centre was initiated at the suggestion of Lyudmila Zhivkova, daughter of the communist leader of the former People's Republic of Bulgaria Todor Zhivkov. The project was designed by a team of Bulgarian and foreign architects led by Alexander Georgiev Barov (1931–1999) along with Ivan Kanazirev. Vitosha is one of the symbols of Sofia and the closest site for hiking, alpinism and skiing. Convenient bus lines and rope ways render the mountain easily accessible. Vitosha has the outlines of an enormous dome. The territory of the mountain includes Vitosha nature park that encompasses the best known and most frequently visited parts. Vasil Terziev
Vasil Aleksandrov Terziev (; born June 9, 1978) is a Bulgarian politician and businessman who co-founded the multi-million dollar software company Telerik. He is the incumbent Mayor of Sofia after winning the elections on November 5, 2023. Early life Terziev was born in Sofia on June 9, 1978. His parents were officers of the Committee for State Security, while his grandfather was a Communist partisan who later became a State Security general in charge of military counterintelligence. He graduated from the First English Language School, after which he obtained a Business Administration degree from the American University in Bulgaria. Foundation and establishment of Telerik In 2002, Terziev founded the software company Telerik together with Svetozar Georgiev, Boyko Yaramov and Hristo Kosev, and was its CEO for several years.
