Snowden (song)
"Snowden" is the second single from British indie rock band Doves' third album, ''Some Cities'' (2005). It was released in the United Kingdom on 9 May 2005, charting at number 17 on the UK Singles Chart and number 42 on the Irish Singles Chart. The single version of the song was mixed by Rich Costey. Two music videos were produced for the song, directed by Dominic Leung. One features the album version of the song, and the other (also known as the "live edit") features the Rich Costey mix, with both videos featuring different footage. Doves (band)
Doves are an English indie rock band, formed in Wilmslow, Cheshire in 1998. The band is composed of singer and bassist Jimi Goodwin and twin brothers, guitarist Jez Williams, Jez and drummer Andy Williams (Doves), Andy Williams. The band released six studio albums between 2000 and 2025, three of which reached #1 on the UK album charts. A compilation album, ''The Places Between: The Best of Doves'', was released in April 2010. Doves went on hiatus in 2010. During this time, Goodwin released his first solo album, ''Odludek'' (2014), while the Williams brothers regrouped as Black Rivers. In December 2018, Doves announced they were ending their hiatus by performing for the Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall on 29 March 2019. Irish Singles Chart
The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. Each chart is dated with the "week-ending" date of the previous Thursday (i.e., the day before issue). The singles chart was first published on 1 October 1962, and covered the top ten singles of the previous week by record label shipments. David Holmes (musician)
David Holmes (born 25 February 1969) is a Northern-Irish musician and composer from Northern Ireland. He worked as a DJ before releasing several solo albums that incorporated elements of trip hop, big beat, rock and electronic music. In the late 1990s, he also began composing film scores, establishing a long-standing collaboration with director Steven Soderbergh that includes ''Out of Sight'' (1998) and the Ocean's (film series), ''Ocean's'' trilogy. Holmes is currently a member of the band Unloved (band), Unloved, whose music has been used extensively in the television series ''Killing Eve'', for which Holmes is also a composer. John Cooper Clarke (born 25 January 1949) is an English performance poet and comedian who styled himself as a "punk poet" in the late 1970s.
