Slovenian Second Basketball League
The Slovenian Second Basketball League (), abbreviated as the 2. SKL, is the second-highest basketball league in Slovenia. Format Each team plays 22 matches (11 home and 11 away). Teams play two matches against each other, once at home and once at their opponent's arena. * The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs * The bottom four teams qualify for the relegation round * The winner of the playoffs is promoted to the 1. SKL * The two worst teams of the relegation round are relegated to the 3. SKL. The Slovenian Basketball League (), abbreviated as 1. SKL and known as the Liga OTP banka due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-level professional men's basketball league in Slovenia. The league is operated by the Basketball Federation of Slovenia and consists of eleven clubs. The most successful team is KK Cedevita Olimpija, Cedevita Olimpija with 22 titles. Žan Mark Šiško (born June 29, 1997) is a retired Slovenian professional basketball player. Standing at , he played at the point guard position. Club career Šiško began his professional career with Slovenian powerhouse KK Union Olimpija, Union Olimpija, making his official debut in March 2014 at the age of 16. Goran Jagodnik (born 23 May 1974) is a Slovenian former professional basketball player. Professional career During his journeyman career, Jagodnik played for numerous clubs in several countries, most notably with Polish team Prokom Trefl Sopot (four seasons) and Serbian team Hemofarm (two seasons). In his homeland, Jagodnik played with Hopsi Polzela and Union Olimpija. Blaž Mesiček (born June 12, 1997) is a Slovenian professional basketball player. Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, he is a tall shooting guard. Playing career He played for his hometown team LOGO Grosuplje and in the summer of 2013 moved to Slovenian powerhouse Union Olimpija where he played for the U-17 and U-19 teams.
