Skarnes IL
Skarnes is the administrative centre of Sør-Odal Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village lies along the river Glomma, about half-way between the villages of Disenå and Sander, Norway, Sander. The new Sør-Odal municipal hall is located in the village. Construction was finished in 2010. The Kongsvingerbanen railway line runs through the village, stopping at Skarnes Station which opened in 1862. The European route E16 highway runs through the village. The Oppstad Church is located about north of the village. The village has a population (2021) of 2,557 and a population density of . Location The village consists of three parts. The "original" Skarnes is on the south side of the river Glomma, near a bridge. The area called ''Tronbøl'' is south of the original village area, on the same side of the river. The third part of the village is ''Korsmo'', across the river to the northwest. Sør-Odal is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Odalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Skarnes. Øystein Olaf Sunde (born 24 January 1947) is a Norwegian folk singer and guitarist. He is known for his high-speed guitar and banjo style and his satirical lyrics. Although often regarded as a comedian, Sunde is a versatile guitarist who has played with several Dixieland bands and jazz combos over the years. Early years He was born 24 January 1947 in Oslo, but his family moved to Skarnes in 1954 where Sunde went to school. In 1955, the family moved back to Lambertseter in Oslo and Sunde continued school there. The same year he started playing piano, but he did not like this because he was forced to rehearse scales and partially because his teacher could play boogiewoogie and Sunde was not allowed to do so by his teacher. Charles Berstad
Charles Berstad (born 29 November 1964) is a retired Norwegian football player and current coach. He played for Disenå, Skarnes before playing for Kongsvinger from 1983 to 1992. He then played for Bodø/Glimt from 1993 to 1994, then Kongsvinger again from 1995 to 1998. Berstad has played 303 matches in Tippeligaen, the highest level of football in Norway, and is currently ranked 21st amongst players with the most games played. He left Kongsvinger and joined Danish club Ikast FS, which in 1999 became FC Midtjylland. He played for Ham-Kam from the summer of 1999 to 2000. He coached Ham-Kam in 2001 before being playing coach of Hamar in 2002. He coached the northern team Fauske/Sprint, then Nybergsund not far from Hamar before signing for another northern team Mo ahead of the 2008 season. He resigned from Mo in July 2009.
