Sir-Tech Software, Inc. was a video game developer and video game publisher, publisher based in the United States and Canada. History In fall 1979, Sirotech Software was founded by Norman Sirotek, Robert Sirotek and Robert Woodhead. Sirotech Software published ''Info Tree'', a database management system, database management program, ''Galactic Attack'' and a beta version of ''Wizardry: Dungeons of Despair'' which was later renamed ''Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord'' and formally released in fall 1981. It was the first game in the ''Wizardry (video game series), Wizardry'' series. In spring 1981, Sir-Tech Software, Inc was incorporated as a video game developer and publisher in the United States. In 1998, Sir-Tech USA closed. The Canada, Canadian counterpart, Sirtech Canada Limited, continued to operate until late 2003. ''Jagged Alliance 2'' is a 1999 tactical role-playing game developed by Sir-Tech, Sir-Tech Canada for Microsoft Windows and later porting, ported to Linux by Tribsoft. It is the third entry in the Jagged Alliance (series), ''Jagged Alliance'' series. The game was followed by the expansion pack ''Jagged Alliance (series)#Jagged Alliance 2: Unfinished Business, Unfinished Business'' in 2000. ''Wizardry 8'' is the last installment in the '' Wizardry'' series of role-playing video games developed by Sir-Tech Canada. Serving as the third game in the "''Dark Savant'' trilogy," it follows '' Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge'' and '' Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant''. ''Jagged Alliance'' is a series of turn-based tactics video games. The first games in the series were released for DOS. From ''Jagged Alliance 2'' on, the games were developed using DirectX for native Windows operation. ''Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna'' (originally known as ''Wizardry: The Return of Werdna - The Fourth Scenario'') is a role-playing video game developed and published by Sir-Tech. The fourth installment in the ''Wizardry'' series, it was released on personal computers in 1987 and later ported to home consoles, such as the PC Engine CD and the PlayStation, through the ''Wizardry: New Age of Llylgamyn'' compilation. ''Wizardry'' is a series of role-playing video games originally created by American publisher Sir-Tech. The series was influential in the evolution of modern role-playing video games alongside '' Ultima'' and '' Might and Magic''. The original ''Wizardry'' was a significant influence on early console role-playing games such as '' Shin Megami Tensei'', '' Dragon Slayer'', '' the Shining series'', ''Fire Emblem'', ''Final Fantasy'' and '' Dragon Quest''. ''Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge'' (originally known as ''Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge'') is the 6th title in the Wizardry series of role-playing video games. ''Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord'' is the first game in the ''Wizardry'' series of role-playing video games. It was developed by Andrew C. Greenberg and Robert Woodhead. Robert Woodhead
Robert J. Woodhead (born 1958 or 1959) is an American entrepreneur, software engineer and former game programmer. He is the co-creator of the ''Wizardry'' franchise, and the co-founder of both the video game publishing company Sir-Tech and anime licensing company AnimEigo. He claims that a common thread in his career is "doing weird things with computers". Career In 1979, he co-founded Sirotech (later known as Sir-Tech) with Norman Sirotek and Robert Sirotek. Along with Andrew C. Greenberg, he created the Apple II video game, game ''Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord'', one of the first role-playing video games written for a personal computer, as well as several of its sequels. ''Freakin' Funky Fuzzballs'' is a top-down puzzle video game written by Ian Currie and Robert Koller for DOS and published by Sir-Tech Software. In it, a fuzzball must navigate several maps and avoid the "enemy." Gameplay There are two different kinds of worlds, fall-out maps and static maps. In fall-out maps, tiles change colors when stepped on and disappear when they turn blue. In static maps, the tiles change from dark to light pink.
