Sioned Williams
Sioned Williams is a Welsh politician and a Member of the Senedd (MS) for the South Wales West region since 2021. Williams is a member of Plaid Cymru. Early life Williams was born in Monmouthshire and was educated at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrân and Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni. She attended Aberystwyth University where she studied Welsh and English. Later, she attended Cardiff University with a S4C T. Glynne Davies Scholarship. She was a journalist for BBC News Wales, and later worked at Academi Hywel Teifi in Swansea University, organising public events and community courses on Welsh history, culture and literature. Williams' great uncle Dai Wil, was an agent for Aneurin Bevan in one of his early elections. A member of the Senedd (MS; plural: ''MSs''; ; , plural: ) is a representative elected to the Senedd (Welsh Parliament; ). There are sixty members, with forty members chosen to represent individual Senedd constituency, Senedd constituencies, and twenty to represent the five Senedd electoral regions, electoral regions of the Senedd in Wales. Each person in Wales is represented by five MSs: one for their local constituency (encompassing their local area where they reside), and another four covering their electoral region (a large grouping of constituencies). Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament
The Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) is an organisation that advocates unilateral nuclear disarmament by the United Kingdom, international nuclear disarmament and tighter international arms regulation through agreements such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. It opposes military action that may result in the use of nuclear, chemical or biological weapons, and the building of nuclear power stations in the UK. CND began in November 1957 when a committee was formed, including Canon John Collins as chairman, Bertrand Russell as president and Peggy Duff as organising secretary.
