Imputor? is an independent record label founded in 1999 by Darrin Wiener (aka Plastiq Phantom) and Jordan Snodgrass. Originally based in Seattle and San Diego, Imputor? began releasing experimental electronic music (also known as Intelligent dance music or IDM), and has since expanded into styles such as Indie rock and Comedy. Imputor? moved its base of operations to Portland, Oregon. History The duo had first met 7 years earlier while attending high-school together in Vista, California, a suburb located in North San Diego County. The name ''Imputor?'' is said to be a made-up contraction of the phrase "I am a computer." It was inspired by the title track ''Select Imputor?'' from Plastiq Phantom's debut CD-R EP which was released by the label in 1999. The official logo of the label is a 5.25" floppy disk, a nostalgic relic from the founders' childhood exposure to computers. Plastiq Phantom is the musical alias of Darrin Wiener who records music ranging a wide variety of genres. Plastiq Phantom first began releasing music in 1999 with the self-released CD-R ''Select Imputor?'' EP, which became the impetus for the formation of his own record label imputor?. His debut full-length ''Enjoy The Art Of Lying Down'' was released in 2001 on the Seattle label Neverstop. His self-titled second album was released October 19, 2004 by the imputor? label. In addition to his own releases, Plastiq Phantom has been credited with production of many other acts including Vells, Psychic Emperor, Calculator Man & Hangar, Pleaseeasaur, and DJs On Strike!. Otto von Schirach (born March 10, 1978 in Miami, Florida) is an American IDM and breakcore musician. Of Cuban and German heritage, he grew up in the Little Havana neighborhood of Miami and heavily incorporates elements of Miami bass into his music. He started out DJing at house parties in the 1990s and began composing his own music. In 2001 he released his first album, ''8000 B.C.'', on his own Triangle Earth label.
