Simone Egeriis
Simone Egeriis (born 28 January 1992), better known as simply Simone, is a Danish pop singer. She was born and raised in Slagelse, Denmark. She is known in Denmark for winning the Danish TV talent show '' Scenen er din'' ('The Stage is Yours') in the category Junior Singing. She has since released three studio albums – her debut was called Vindens Farver or '' Colours of the Wind'', the song from Disney's ''Pocahontas'', with which she won ''Scenen er Din''. She also plays the violin and the piano. Biography Early years Simone's mother and father are divorced and she lives with her mother and her older sister Stephanie in Slagelse, where her father also lives. She started singing at a very young age and went on to do children's musicals. At age nine she began in the children's gospel choir 'Himmelsus'. Slagelse
Slagelse () is a town on Zealand (Denmark), Zealand, Denmark. The town is the seat of Slagelse Municipality, and is the biggest town of the municipality. It is located 15 km east of Korsør, 16 km north-east of Skælskør, 33 km south-east of Kalundborg and 14 km west of Sorø. Denmark In The Eurovision Song Contest 2016
Denmark was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song "Soldiers of Love" written by Sebastian F. Ovens, Daniel Lund Jørgensen, Katrine Klith Andersen, Søren Bregendal, Johannes Nymark and Martin Skriver. The song was performed by the group Lighthouse X. The Danish broadcaster DR organised the national final ''Melodi Grand Prix 2016'' in order to select the Danish entry for the 2016 contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Ten songs competed in a televised show where the winner was selected over two rounds of voting. The results of the first round were decided upon through the combination of jury voting and public voting while in the second round, the winner was selected solely by public televoting. "Soldiers of Love" performed by Lighthouse X was the winner after gaining 42% of the public vote.
