Simon Cron
Simon Cron is a New Zealand born professional rugby union football coach. He is currently head coach of the rugby team that plays in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. He was appointed Western Force head coach ahead of the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season in March 2022. Cron's rugby coaching journey included being head coach at Northern Suburbs Rugby Football Club in the Shute Shield competition. In 2016 he led them to their first Shute Shield premiership, breaking a 41 year drought. In 2016 Cron was appointed head coach of the Sydney Rays in the National Rugby Championship (NRC). In 2017 he also became the head coach of the Australia U20s. This was followed by two year spell as assistant coach, which included a Semi-final appearance against the Lions in Johannesburg in 2018. Northern Suburbs Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based on Sydney's Lower North Shore, that was formed in 1900 from the merger of the Pirates and Wallaroos clubs. Sydney, formerly the Sydney Rays, was an Australian rugby union team that competed in the National Rugby Championship (NRC). It was one of two sides from New South Wales that played in the final season of NRC in 2019; the other was the NSW Country Eagles. The Australia national under-20 rugby union team, nicknamed the Junior Wallabies, is the national under-20 rugby union team that represents Australia. The team has been competing at the annual World Rugby U20 Championship since it began in 2008, replacing the previously held under-19 and under-21 championships. The team also competes at the Oceania U20 Championship as of 2015 and the U20 Rugby Championship since 2024. The Western Force is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Perth, Western Australia, currently competing in Super Rugby, Super Rugby Pacific. Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands. It has previously included teams from Argentina, Japan, and South Africa.
