Spanish Silver Train
The Spanish Silver Train was an improvised trail used to transport silver from Potosí, Peru across the isthmus of Panama in order to ship it to Spain via the Spanish treasure fleet. The silver was usually unloaded in Panama City, then put in mule trains and taken first to Nombre de Dios, and then, following the demise of that city in the late sixteenth century, to Portobello. The Silver Train was a prime target for English, Dutch and French privateers in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. Francis Drake Sir Francis Drake ( – 28 January 1596) was an English explorer, sea captain, privateer, slave trader, naval officer, and politician. Drake is best known for his circumnavigation of the world in a single expedition, from 1577 to 1580 ... and Guillaume Le Testu, a French privateer, succeeded in capturing the train. The Silver Train Of Stockholm
The Silver Train of Stockholm (), also known as the the Silver Arrow (), is an urban legend about a silver colored ghost train that traffics the Stockholm Metro. The legend is one of several surrounding the Stockholm Metro involving ghost phenomena. The modern railway network, which was inaugurated in 1950, has racked up several mythical urban legends over the years, especially of the horror genre, of which the silver train is the most famous. According to ethnologist Bengt af Klintberg, there is a legend where the train must have had some kind of curse on the living, as those who got on the train could not get off. This curse is retold in various urban legends and ghost stories about the silver train and has even been turned into a TV-episode in the year 2000 for the Swedish horror themed television show , as well as a children's book in 2016 under the name ''Spöktåget Silverpilen'' ("The ghost train ''The Silver Arrow''") in the book series ''Mystiska Myter'' ("Mystical M ... The Black Crowes covered the song live. A cover of "Silver Train" also appears on the Carla Olson-Mick Taylor album ''Too Hot For Snakes'', which was released in 1991. Rail Transport In Brazil
Rail transport in Brazil began in the 19th century and there were many different railway companies. The railways were nationalised under RFFSA (Rede Ferroviária Federal, Sociedade Anônima) in 1957. Between 1999 and 2007, RFFSA was broken up and services are now operated by a variety of private and public operators, including América Latina Logística, Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos and SuperVia. Most railways in Brazil are for freight transportation or urban passenger transportation. Only two inter-city passenger railways survive: the Carajás Railway (connecting Pará and Maranhão) and the Vitória to Minas Railway (connecting Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais).
