Siegfried Schnabl (27 February 1927 – 4 August 2015) was a German sexologist and psychotherapist who contributed to the work of sex education in East Germany and other nations. Sexology is the scientific study of human sexuality, including human sexual interests, behaviors, and functions. The Publicly Owned Enterprise (german: Volkseigener Betrieb; abbreviated VEB) was the main legal form of industrial enterprise in East Germany. They were all publicly owned and were formed after mass nationalisation between 1945 and the early 1960s, and the handing back in 1954 of some 33 enterprises previously taken by the Soviet Union as reparations. Habilitation is the highest university degree, or the procedure by which it is achieved, in many European countries. The candidate fulfills a university's set criteria of excellence in research, teaching and further education, usually including a dissertation. The degree, abbreviated "Dr. habil."
