Siege Of Ansi
The siege of Ansi took place between Goguryeo and Tang forces in Ansi, a fortress in the Liaodong Peninsula, and the culmination of the First campaign in the Goguryeo–Tang War. The confrontation lasted for about three months from 20 June 645 to 18 September 645. The initial phase of combat resulted in the defeat of a Gorguryeo relief force of 150,000 and resulted in the Tang troops laying siege to the fortress. After a siege lasting around two months, the Tang forces constructed a rampart. However, the rampart was on the brink of completion, when a section of it collapsed and was taken over by the defenders which – along with the cold winter approaching as well as arriving Goguryeo reinforcements and the lack of supplies – forced Tang troops into a retreat. Fayuan Temple
The Fayuan Temple (), situated in the southwest quarter of central Beijing, is one of the city's oldest and most renowned Buddhist temples. History The Fayuan Temple, originally named the Minzhong Temple, was first built in 645 during the Tang dynasty by Li Shimin (Emperor Taizong), and later rebuilt in the Zhengtong era (1436–1449) of the Ming dynasty. Emperor Taizong founded the temple to commemorate his soldiers who died in his campaign against Goguryeo. The temple occupies an area of 6,700 square meters. Qibi Heli () ( - died 677), noble title Duke of Liang (涼國公), was a Tiele general of China's Tang dynasty and a companion of the Emperor Taizong of Tang. He was accorded the posthumous name Lie (烈). Early life Qibi Heli was born to a Tiele tribe called the Qibi. He was son of Qibi Ge (契苾葛), who was a younger brother of Yiwuzhenmohe Qaghan (易勿真莫賀可汗). Orphaned at 9 years old he became the eltäbär of his tribe and lived a nomadic life around Lake Zài (nowadays Issyk-Kul lake). His father's title was Baghatur Tegin (莫賀咄特勤).
