Sidney And Lois Eskenazi Hall
Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hall is home to the Indiana University Herron School of Art and is located on the south side of the Indiana University Indianapolis campus. To its north lies the Wood Fountain at IUPUI, Wood Plaza and IUPUI University Library, University Library, to the east is Military Park (Indianapolis), Military Park, and to its West is the Indiana University Natatorium. The academic building contains three public art galleries for Indianapolis artists and students to display various pieces and exhibits, and a large art library containing a huge collection of literature on art, architecture, design, and creative technologies. Wood Fountain At IUPUI
The Wood Fountain is an outdoor public architectural sitework on Indiana University-Purdue University's campus. The campus is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Wood Fountain is commissioned by IUPUI (Indianapolis University - Purdue University) and completed in 1995. Singh Associates in New York City designed the sculpture, while Tom Fansler III manages the fountain. The purpose of this artwork, according to the Smock Fansler website, was to provide "better places to live," and bring "spaces between buildings and the elements that tie them together..." Description The sitework used stone to mimic a pyramid in the shape of a diamond. They added water so this artwork can be used as a fountain. It sits on IUPUI's campus along New York St with the pathways surrounding made out of brick. According to IUPUI's website, the artwork "is 100 feet long on each of its four sides." Indiana University Natatorium is a swimming complex on the campus of Indiana University Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Herron School of Art and Design, officially IU Herron School of Art and Design, is a public university, public art school at Indiana University Indianapolis, Indiana University–Indianapolis (IUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Männerchor or Maennerchor (, "men's chorus") is the name given to German social clubs, primarily in the northeastern United States, Pennsylvania in particular. The earliest forms of these clubs where "singing societies" that perpetuated traditional choral music, both German and German-American culture, providing '' Gemuetlichkeit'' for new immigrants. Such clubs are typically attended by men and many function as a restaurant and bar, serving German foods and beers. The Teutonia Männerchor was chartered in 1854 in Deutschtown, East Allegheny, on the north side of Pittsburgh. They have been at their current location since 1888, which is registered as a historic landmark. A Maennerchor was established in Cincinnati in 1857 with the merging of the Liedertafel, the Saengerbund, and the Germanic Societies; it was the oldest musical organization of the city.
