Shirehampton F.C.
Shirehampton Football Club is a football club based in Bristol, England. They are currently members of the and play at Penpole Lane, Bristol. History Shirehampton were formed as Kingsweston Star, changing their name to Penpole United in 1952, joining the Church of England League. In 1954, the club once again changed their name to Shirehampton Sports, whilst competing in the Bristol and District League. In the early 1970s, the club changed their name to their current guise. In 1978, Shirehampton entered the Somerset County League. In 2000, Shirehampton won the Somerset County League, winning it again in 2011 as well as the Somerset County Cup that year and 2015. In 2020, Shirehampton joined the Gloucestershire County League. In 2022, the club was admitted into the Western League Division One. Somerset County League
The Somerset County League is a football competition based in England. The Premier Division operates at step 7 (or level 11) of the National League System. It is a feeder to the Western League Division One and has promoted ten clubs to it since 2006 – Hengrove Athletic, Portishead Town, Radstock Town, Oldland Abbotonians, Wells City, Cheddar, Ashton & Backwell United, Nailsea & Tickenham, Middlezoy Rovers and Mendip Broadwalk. The Gloucestershire County Football League is a football league in England, founded in 1968. The league is affiliated to the Gloucestershire County FA. It sits at step 7 (or level 11) of the National League System and is a feeder to Divisions One of the Hellenic League and Western League. Shirehampton
Shirehampton is a district of Bristol in England, near Avonmouth, at the northwestern edge of the city. It originated as a separate village, retains a High Street with a parish church and shops, and is still thought of as a village by many of its 6,867 inhabitants. Although on the far northwest corner, and largely separated from the rest of Bristol by a broad swathe of parkland extending from the Blaise Castle estate, with the River Avon forming a barrier for access to Somerset, the community is still a convenient location from which to reach all parts of the city. The 2023–24 FA Vase (known for sponsorship reasons as the Isuzu FA Vase) was the 50th season of the FA Vase, an annual football competition for teams playing in levels 9 and 10 (steps 5 & 6) of the English National League System.
