is a Japanese politician of the Liberal Democratic Party, and a member of the House of Councillors in the Diet (national legislature). Early life Matsushita is a graduate of Hosei University. Prior to gaining elected office, he worked at the government of Miyazaki Prefecture from April 1991 to December 1996. Shinpei Nakayama
was a Japanese songwriter famous for his many children's songs ('' warabe uta)'' and popular songs (''ryūkōka'') that have become deeply embedded in Japanese popular culture. Early life Nakayama was born in 1887 in Nakano City, Nagano Prefecture. His father died when he was very young, so he and his siblings were raised by his mother Zō, who often took in washing and sewing to make ends meet. Nakayama was first interested in music when he attended Nakano Elementary School, where he and his classmates would sing to the accompaniment of a small organ (what he called a "baby organ"). The songs they sang included popular military marches from the First Sino-Japanese War (1894–95). Shinpei Ogura
was a Japanese linguist who studied the Korean language. Ogura is well-known in Korea for his contributions to Korean linguistics, with much of his field work and studies considered invaluable resources even in recent years. Ogura made a number of landmark firsts in the field; he was the first person to decipher ''hyangga'' poetry documents. He is also considered the first modern researcher of Korean dialects, and traveled throughout the peninsula doing field research. The data he collected on dialects are still widely referred to, especially because the division of Korea in 1945 has made it difficult to study dialects on opposite ends of the peninsula. is a sociocultural anthropologist, sociocultural historian, researcher of Northeast Asian studies and curator of ethnology. He is an associate professor of cross-field research at the National Museum of Ethnology which is the largest research institute for the humanities in Japan and is one of the six members of the National Institutes for the Humanities, Japan (NIHU).
