Sharikat Naft Al-Basra
Sharikat Naft Al-Basra (), known as BPC for short, was an Iraqi football team based in Basra which represented the Basra Petroleum Company. They became Iraq's first ever national cup winners when they won the 1948–49 Iraq FA Cup that was played by teams from across the country. Iraq FA Basra Premier League
The Iraq FA Basra Premier League () was the top-level division of football in Basra between 1948 and 1973. It was controlled by the Basra branch of the Iraq Football Association and was one of several regional league championships played in Iraq at the time, with others including the Iraq Central FA League, Baghdad, Iraq FA Kirkuk League, Kirkuk and Mosul leagues. The first champions of the competition were Al-Minaa, who won the title in the 1948–49 Iraq FA Basra League, 1948–49 season. The regional leagues folded in 1973 and were replaced by the Iraqi National League (Institutions), Iraqi National First Division. Al-Minaa were the competition's most successful team with 15 titles. Saeed Easho
Peter Saeed Easho Murad () (born 1928) is a former international Iraqi football player, who was one of the first players to play in first Iraq national football team, he also played for Al-Minaa, and with the reserve team of English club Manchester United during the 1960s. Early years Saeed Easho was the son of an Eastern Orthodox priest, who had settled in the city of Basra in the early 20th century from the heart of the old Ottoman Empire. Saeed excelled at football at his primary school in the district of Al-Ashar and at Thanawiyat Al-Basra and was chosen to play for the Basra Select side while in school, taking on British Army sides based in the city during WWII. He had left the country to study but returned to work as a clerk for the Basra Petroleum Company (B.P.C.) and the Al-Minaa Club.
