Teplice (, until 1948 Teplice-Šanov; , ''Teplitz-Schönau'') is a city in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 51,000 inhabitants. It is the most populous Czech spa town, followed by Karlovy Vary. The Green Party () is a green political party in the Czech Republic. History The Green party was founded in 1990 following the return to liberal democracy in Czechia following the Velvet Revolution. However, the party remained on the political margins until Jaromír Štětina was able to capture a seat in the Senate (upper house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic) in 2004. It was during this time that the Greens campaigned on pacificism (rejecting the idea that any foreign military power should have military bases in the Czech Republic) and greater incorporation of grassroots democracy in the country. Terezie Holovská (born 9 October 1962) is a Czech businesswoman and politician. She ran an unsuccessful campaign to become a candidate for the 2018 and 2023 Czech presidential election. Biography Holovská was born in 1962. A member of the Civic Democratic Party, she became Deputy Mayor of Prague 8 following the 1998 municipal election. She resigned in 2000 over a dispute with people active in education. She was also accused of illicit enrichment. Holovská subsequently focused on her business activities, calling herself an "alchemist". She became close to the Czech Pirate Party, whose leader Ivan Bartoš suggested her as a possible candidate for the 2018 presidential election. Freedom and Direct Democracy (, SPD) is a political party in the Czech Republic. It is led by Tomio Okamura and it holds 20 seats in the Chamber of Deputies.
