Sean Marshall (basketball)
Sean James Marshall (born April 11, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Boston College. College career Marshall played college basketball at Boston College, where he, along with 2007 ACC Player of the Year Jared Dudley, were co-captains. He averaged 11.1 points per game in his sophomore and junior years, and 14.8 in his senior year when Boston College went 21–12. While at Boston College, Marshall was roommates with Pete Frates, who was later diagnosed with ALS. Professional career After going undrafted in the 2007 NBA draft, Marshall signed with Pınar Karşıyaka of the Turkish Basketball League for the 2007–08 season. During his first pro season he averaged 19.47 points and 5.17 rebounds per game. In June 2008, Marshall signed a one-year deal with Aris Thessaloniki of the Greek Basket League. Eskişehir Basket
Eskişehir Basket was a professional basketball team based in the city of Eskişehir in Turkey. Their home arena was the Anadolu Üniversitesi Sport Hall with a capacity of 5,000 seats. Founded in 2006, the club played in the highest tier Basketbol Süper Ligi for seven seasons. It also played in Europe for one season, in the 2011–12 EuroChallenge. In July 2018, the club withdrew from the BSL and ceased its basketball activities. The Basketball Tournament
The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is an open-invitation, single-elimination tournament, single-elimination tournament played each summer in the United States, with the stakes being a cash prize (the most recent tournament in The Basketball Tournament 2024, 2024 had a $1 million purse going to the winners). The number of teams playing in the tournament has varied since its establishment, but in recent years has settled into a 64-team field. The event was founded in 2014 by real estate developer and TV producer Jonathan Mugar, and as of 2024, the tournament airs in the U.S. on Fox (TV network), Fox and its sister network Fox Sports 1 (FS1). The LNB Pro B, commonly known as Pro B, is the second-tier level men's professional basketball league in France. It is the second division of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB), which has organized the league since the year 1987. The regular season champion and the winner of the promotion playoffs from each Pro B season are promoted to the top-tier level LNB Pro A, replaced by the bottom two teams in Pro A. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is a professional basketball league in North America that serves as the developmental league of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The league comprises 31 teams; as of the 2024–25 season, all are single-affiliated or owned by an NBA team except for the independent Mexico City Capitanes. Peter Frates (December 28, 1984 – December 9, 2019) was an American college baseball player for the Boston College Eagles and an activist for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He is credited with helping the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge gain national attention, which raised approximately $220 million for ALS research. Early life Pete Frates was born on December 28, 1984, in Beverly, Massachusetts. He grew up playing many sports, including baseball, hockey, and football. Frates attended his father's alma mater St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, Massachusetts, and was an honor roll student there. At St. John's Prep, he was a four-year member of the varsity baseball, hockey, and football teams, and he served as captain of all three teams during his senior year.
