Satyavathi Rathod
Satyavathi Rathod (born 31 October 1969) is an Indian politician serving as the Minister for Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare of Telangana since 2019. She is the first tribal woman to serve as a Minister in Telangana. She is a member of the Telangana Legislative Council from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Rathod previously represented the Dornakal constituency in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 2009 from the Telugu Desam Party. Early and personal life Satyavathi Rathod was born on 31 October 1969 in Pedda Thanda hamlet in Kuravi mandal of present-day Mahabubabad district, Telangana (at the time part of Andhra Pradesh). The youngest among five siblings, her parents are Lingya Naik and Dasmi Bhai. After Class VIII, Rathod dropped out of school and was married to Govind Rathod. He died in a road accident in July 2009. Sakshi TV () is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel. It was launched on 1 March 2009, by Indira Television Ltd. owned by Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is currently run under the chairmanship of Y. S. Bharathi Reddy, wife of Jagan Mohan Reddy. The media group also owns the Telugu daily newspaper, ''Sakshi''. The channel is widely regarded as a propaganda outlet for Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party YSR Congress Party (YCP). It is criticized for its biased coverage of the political rivals of Reddy and YCP. Sakshi TV has been found to be in breach of the News Broadcasting Standards Authority (NBSA) code of ethics on various occasions. 2014 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2014 took place on 30 April and 7 May 2014 to elect members to the legislatures of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It was held concurrently with the Indian general election. The results were declared on 16 May 2014. The Telugu Desam Party led by N. Chandrababu Naidu won a majority of the 175 seats in the rump Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana Rashtra Samithi led by K. Chandrashekar Rao won in the new state of Telangana. Previous Assembly In the 2009 Andhra Pradesh Assembly election, Congress had taken the lead, winning 156 of the 294 seats in the Assembly. As the leader of the Congress Legislature Party, Y. S. The United Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election of 2009 took place in April 2009, concurrently with the 2009 Indian general election.
