Sarwanam Theatre Group
Sarwanam Theatre is a non-profit Nepalese theatre group co-founded by Ashesh Malla.Raj Shah is active as the creative director of Sarwanam. Organized to perform street theater, Sarwanam performs plays which focus on social issues in Nepal. The group has developed the Sarwanam Art Centre in Putali Sadak, Kalikasthan, Kathmandu, which houses a theatre auditorium, cafeteria, art gallery, workshop hall and research centre. It does not bear any governmental or non governmental funding. The building's construction was funded through the presentation of theatrical performances. The concept of Sarwanam Theater Building came from Ashesh Malla, the founder of Sarwanam Theater. Street Theater
Street theatre is a form of theatrical performance and presentation in outdoor public spaces without a specific paying audience. These spaces can be anywhere, including shopping centres, car parks, recreational reserves, college or university campus and street corners. They are especially seen in outdoor spaces where there are large numbers of people. Performers range from buskers to organised theatre companies or groups that want to experiment with performance spaces, promote their mainstream work, or are commissioned for events such as street festivals, children's shows, or parades. The logistics of doing street theatre necessitate simple costumes and props, and often there is little or no amplification of sound, with actors depending on their natural vocal and physical ability. UNMIN
The United Nations Mission in Nepal or UNMIN was a special political mission in Nepal, established by the UN Security Council in January 2007 through resolution 174040 (2007) to assist in implementing key aspects of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that ended the internal armed conflict in the South Asian country. The mandate was subsequently extended in resolutions 1796 (2008), 1825 (2008), 1864 (2009), 1879 (2009) and 1909 (2010). UNMIN ceased its operations on January 15, 2011.
