Sajjad Ganjzadeh
Sajjad Ganjzadeh ( fa, سجاد گنجزاده, also Romanized as "Sajjād Ganjzādeh"; born 4 January 1992 in Tehran) is an Iranian karateka. Competing in the above 84 kg kumite division he won gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2014 and 2016 world championships, 2013 and 2017 Asian championships, and 2018 Asian Games. He has also won multiple awards in competitions within the Karate1 Premier League. He is the first Iranian karateka to win an Olympic gold medal. He won the gold medal in the men's +75 kg event after being knocked out by an illegal kick from Tareg Hamedi Tareg Ali Hamedi ( ar, طارق حامدي, born 26 July 1998) is a Saudi Arabian karateka. The 2017 World Games ( pl, Igrzyska Światowe 2017), commonly known as Wrocław 2017 (german: Breslau 2017; sli, Brassel 2017), was the tenth World Games, a major international multi-sport event, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that were not contested in the Olympic Games, held from 20 to 30 July 2017 in Wrocław, Poland. The 4th Islamic Solidarity Games was a multinational, multi-sport event that was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 12 to 22 May 2017. Previously the event has been held in Saudi Arabia in 2005 and Indonesia in 2013. The Islamic Solidarity Games ( ar, ألعاب التضامن الإسلامي) is a multinational, multi-sport event. The Games involve the elite athletes of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation who compete in a variety of sports. The Solidarity Games were initially created to strengthen Islamic camaraderie and reinforce the values of Islam, primarily to the youth.
