Saha Airlines
Saha Airlines ( fa, هواپیمایی ساها) is an Iranian Airline based in Tehran that operates scheduled domestic flights. History The company was established in 1990 as Saha Airliness and is wholly owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force. It operates domestic passenger services using Boeing 737-300 aircraft, and cargo charters carried out with Boeing 747 freighters when required. Saha Airlines was the last civil operator of the Boeing 707 in the world. On 3 May 2013, all flight operations were suspended. Saha Airlines began operating again in 2017. 2019 Saha Airlines Boeing 707 Crash
On 14 January 2019, a Boeing 707 operated by Saha Airlines on a cargo flight crashed at Fath Air Base, near Karaj, Alborz Province in Iran. Fifteen of the sixteen people on board were killed. This aircraft was the last civil Boeing 707 in operation. Aircraft The aircraft involved was a Boeing 707-3J9C, c/n 21128, registration EP-CPP. The aircraft was owned by the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force and had been leased to Saha Airlines. The aircraft was 42 years old at the time. The aircraft had first flown on 19 November 1976, and was delivered that month to the Imperial Iranian Air Force as 5–8312. It had been transferred to Saha Airlines on 27 February 2000, and was re-registered EP-SHK. It was substantially damaged by an uncontained engine failure on 3 August 2009, whilst on a flight from Ahvaz International Airport to Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran. Overview The airport is named in honor of Shahid Beheshti. For administrative and census purposes, it is considered a village in Qahab-e Shomali Rural District, in the Central District of Isfahan County, Isfahan Province, Iran. Iran has several private and public airline companies in operation. The oldest is the Iranian Airways Company, founded in 1944 (known as Iran Air since 1961). As of June 2009, Iranian planes fly 45 international flight routes. Most of the fleet of Iranian airlines today consist of old Boeings and used or leased Airbus and regional jets like British Aerospace 146 and ATR 72 and Fokker 100. Sanctions from the United States prevents Iran from purchasing most new western made aircraft to update its rapidly aging fleet. Fath Air Base is a military airfield near Karaj, Alborz Province, Iran. Location Fath Air Base is located near Karaj, Alborz Province, Iran. It is assigned the ICAO airport code OIIF. Payam Airport ( fa, فرودگاه پیام) is an international airport located in Karaj, from Tehran, in the Alborz Province of Iran. The airport was established in 1990, but was not opened officially until 1997. Payam Aviation Services Co. operates the airport as part of Payam Special Economic Zone. Payam Air previously operated an air mail hub at the airport. The airport has served primarily as cargo field. Karaj
Karaj ( fa, کرج, ) is the capital of Alborz Province, Iran, and effectively a satellite city of Tehran. The Airbus A300 is a wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Airbus. In September 1967, aircraft manufacturers in the United Kingdom, France, and West Germany signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a large airliner. The Boeing 737 Classic is a series of narrow-body airliners produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, the second generation of the Boeing 737 series of aircraft.
