Martin Colin Sacks (born 16 October 1959) is an Australian actor who is chiefly known for his 12-year role on '' Blue Heelers'' from 1993 to 2005. Life and career Sacks was born in Sydney. Sachse, Texas
Sachse ( ) is a city in Collin and Dallas counties in the U.S. state of Texas and is part of the DFW metroplex. A northeastern suburb of Dallas, the city population was 27,103, as of the 2020 census with an estimated population of 33,768 people today. Sachse is located off Texas State Highway 78 and President George Bush Turnpike ( Texas State Highway 190) and is approximately north of the Firewheel Town Center. History Sachse was founded by William Sachse, a European immigrant from Herford, Prussia (modern-day North Rhine-Westphalia), in 1845. Purchasing from Collin County, Sachse erected the first cotton mills and gins in the county. After Sachse gave 100 feet of frontage through all of his holdings to the railroad in 1886, the railroad built a depot on the frontage and named the town Sachse. Yonason Sacks is an Orthodox rabbi and the Rosh Yeshiva of Lander College for Men, a division of Touro University, as well as the spiritual leader of the Agudas Yisroel Bircas Yaakov in Passaic, New Jersey. Family Sacks' grandfather was one of the leaders of Jewish education in Chicago, Illinois, and his great-grandfather was the Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Tzvi Pesach Frank. Ruth Sacks (born 1977) is a South African artist who lives and works in Johannesburg. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the South African Research Chair Initiative (SARChI) for Social Change at Fort Hare University. Sacks holds a PhD (Arts) from the University of the Witwatersrand where she was a fellow at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (WiSER). Oliver Sacks
Oliver Wolf Sacks (9 July 1933 – 30 August 2015) was a British neurology, neurologist, Natural history, naturalist, historian of science, and writer. Born in London, Sacks received his medical degree in 1958 from The Queen's College, Oxford, before moving to the United States, where he spent most of his career. He interned at UCSF Medical Center, Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco and completed his residency in neurology and neuropathology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Later, he served as neurologist at Beth Abraham Hospital's chronic-care facility in the Bronx, where he worked with a group of survivors of the 1920s sleeping sickness encephalitis lethargica epidemic, who had been unable to move on their own for decades. His treatment of those patients became the basis of his 1973 book ''Awakenings (book), Awakenings'', which was adapted into an Academy Award-nominated Awakenings, feature film, in 1990, starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
