Vue International ( , like "view"), is a multinational cinema holding company headquartered in London, England, and registered in St Helier, Jersey. It operates in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark as Vue, with international operations in Germany (as CinemaxX); Italy (as The Space Cinema); Poland and Lithuania (Multikino); Netherlands (Vue Netherlands). History Foundation The company was founded in 1999 as Spean Bridge Cinemas by Stewart Blair, a former executive of Regal Cinemas, United Artists Theatres and Tim Richards, a former executive of Warner Village Cinemas, Warner Bros. International Theatres. It was named after a holiday to the Scottish Highland village of the Spean Bridge, same name by Blair. 2000s The first cinema to open was under The Circuit Cinema brand in Livingston, West Lothian, Livingston, Scotland, on 5 October 2000. A private company limited by shares is a class of private limited company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales, Hong Kong, Northern Ireland, Scotland, certain Commonwealth jurisdictions, and the Republic of Ireland. It has shareholders with limited liability and its shares may not be offered to the general public, unlike those of a public limited company. "Limited by shares" means that the liability of the shareholders to creditors of the company is limited to the capital originally invested, i.e. the nominal value of the shares and any premium paid in return for the issue of the shares by the company.
