Ryat
Ryat (often stylized as RYAT and pronounced "riot") is an experimental electronic music project created by female producer Christina Amalie Mattei, also known as Christina Teleaer, based in Los Angeles, California. She has released music on Obvious Bandits, Brainfeeder, Ninja Tune. Career RYAT began in 2006 in Philadelphia, where Mattei met DJ/producer King Britt, who encouraged her to produce her own music using Ableton Live. She studied music programming, producing and hosted improvisation sessions playing with the older jazz fusion artists, Calvin Westin and Elliot Levin . Taylor McFerrin inspired her to create a live producers set up with Ableton, inspiring her to loop her music productions live. She met jazz musician, Tim Conley at a jam session at his house and started a band called As Human. After their band As Human split, she asked Conley to join her on tour. ''Early Riser'' is the debut studio album by American musician Taylor McFerrin. It was released on June 2, 2014 through Brainfeeder. Produced by McFerrin himself, it features contributions from Bobby McFerrin, César Camargo Mariano, Emily King, Jason Fraticelli, Marcus Gilmore, Nai Palm, Robert Glasper, RYAT and Thundercat. King Britt
King Britt (born 1968) is an American educator, DJ and record producer from Philadelphia. Biography Britt is a 1986 graduate of Central High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1987, he started working at Tower Records, as a buyer for the singles/import section. His extensive knowledge of dance music made him an in demand buyer in the company. He went on to make many connections in the music community, bringing in records and new labels from all over the world. King attended Temple University. In 1990, King Britt began his first DJ residency at the Silk City in Philadelphia and the now defunct Revival. These two DJ residencies would help change the course of dance music in Philadelphia and lay the foundation for King's musical future. Brainfeeder is an independent record label based in Los Angeles, California, founded by Flying Lotus in 2008, focusing on electronic music and instrumental hip hop. Soil & "Pimp" Sessions (stylised as SOIL&"PIMP"SESSIONS) is a Japanese club jazz sextet who formed in Tokyo, Japan, in 2001. They are known for their energetic live performances, having coined the term "death jazz" to describe their music. Raj Haldar (born August 1, 1981), better known by his stage name Lushlife, is an American rapper and record producer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
