Russell Noftsker
Russell Noftsker is an American entrepreneur who founded Symbolics, a computer company, and was its first chairman and president. Biography Russell Noftsker was born February 1942 and graduated high school in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Noftsker earned a degree in engineering from New Mexico State University and was hired in 1965 by Marvin Minsky as the administrator of the Project MAC AI Group, later to become the AI Lab, replacing Dan Edwards, who had recently left that post. Lisp machines and Symbolics Noftsker left the Lab in 1973, but would later return to the Lab. Marvin Lee Minsky (August 9, 1927 – January 24, 2016) was an American cognitive and computer scientist concerned largely with research of artificial intelligence (AI), co-founder of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's AI laboratory, and author of several texts concerning AI and philosophy. Minsky received many accolades and honors, including the 1969 Turing Award. Daniel Moody Edwards (August 17, 1926 – August 7, 2001) was an American gridiron football player and coach. He played professional as an end in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the National Football League (NFL).
