Route 60 (MTA Maryland)
Route 34 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore and its suburbs. The line currently operates weekdays only from the Reisterstown Plaza Metro Subway Station to Stevenson University during peak hours and Greenspring Station midday. The route is based on that of the former Route 60 (pre-BaltimoreLink), and Route M-10. It is especially similar to the pre-1992 route of Route M-10, except that it has no deviations from Clarks Lane, and that it operates via Smith Avenue to Mt. Washington rather than Old Pimlico Road to Falls Road. History The Greenspring Avenue corridor and the Cheswolde area was first served by the no. 47 streetcar prior to 1950. Greater Baltimore Bus Initiative
The Greater Baltimore Bus Initiative (GBBI) (pronounced ''GIBBY'') was a sweeping overhaul planned by the Maryland Transit Administration under the administration of then-Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich and his transportation secretary Robert Flanagan that was said to be the largest single-phase overhaul in the history of the agency and its parent companies. According to Ehrlich and Flanagan, the initiative was a series of ''improvements'' to the transit system in the Baltimore area. While some of the proposed changes were obvious improvements, others were heavily opposed by riders, elected officials, and advocates, who considered them ''inconveniences'' and losses of service. Stevenson University is a private university in Baltimore County, Maryland with two campuses, one in Stevenson and one in Owings Mills. The university enrolls approximately 3,615 undergraduate and graduate students. Formerly known as Villa Julie College, the name was changed to Stevenson University in 2008. Route 5 is a bus route operated by the Maryland Transit Administration in Baltimore. The line currently runs from Cedonia in northeast Baltimore to the Mondawmin Metro Subway Station. The line has two alternating routes in East Baltimore: one via the area of Johns Hopkins Hospital, and one via a one-way pair of streets a few blocks north. A small number of trips also operate to/from Federal Street or Lanvale & Patterson Park. The current bus route is the successor to the 5 Druid Hill Avenue, 27 Federal Street, and Preston Street streetcar lines. Greenspring Avenue is a road in Baltimore, Maryland and its northwestern suburbs. At one time, Greenspring Avenue was Maryland Route 519 from Worthington Road to Dover Road, but the road has since been decommissioned and no longer has any numerical designation.
