Rosedale College
Rosedale College is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the Hayes area of the London Borough of Hillingdon, England. The school was first established as Hayes County Grammar School and then became Hayes Manor School before being renamed Rosedale College. The school converted to academy status on 1 August 2011 as a partnership with Hewens College. Previously Rosedale College was a Foundation School administered by Hillingdon London Borough Council. The school continues to coordinate with Hillingdon London Borough Council for admissions. Rosedale College specialises in technology and applied learning, and has additional resources for the specialisms including a dedicated building where technology, IT, science and mathematics are taught. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. The terms of the arrangements are set out in individual Academy Funding Agreements. Foundation School
In England and Wales, a foundation school is a state-funded school in which the governing body has greater freedom in the running of the school than in community schools. Foundation schools were set up under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 to replace grant-maintained schools, which were funded directly by central government. Grant-maintained schools that had previously been voluntary controlled or county schools (but not voluntary aided) usually became foundation schools. Foundation schools are a kind of "maintained school", meaning that they are funded by central government via the local education authority, and do not charge fees to students. Chris Corcoran
Chris 'Korkey' Corcoran (born 10 April 1972) is a British comedian and broadcaster from Wales. Before becoming a comedian, he taught history at Barry Comprehensive School and was the head of history at Hayes Manor School, now Rosedale College. Stand-up Along with Elis James, Corcoran regularly performed as 'Mr Chairman' in ''Chris Corcoran's Committee Meeting'', a live comedy show at The Ponty Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd. In 2013 the two made a BBC Three pilot called ''The Committee Meeting'' based on their stand-up show as part of the channel's "Comedy Feeds" season, available to watch on the BBC's iPlayer. Greg Dyke
Gregory Dyke (born 20 May 1947) is a British media executive, football administrator, journalist, and broadcaster. Since the 1960s, Dyke has had a long career in the UK in print and then broadcast journalism. He is credited with introducing 'tabloid' television to British broadcasting, and reviving the ratings of TV-am. In the 1990s, he held chief executive positions at LWT Group, Pearson Television, and Channel 5. He was the director-general of the BBC from January 2000 to January 2004; he resigned following heavy criticism of the BBC's news reporting process in the Hutton Inquiry. Hewens College (formerly Mellow Lane School) is a secondary school with academy status in Hayes, Hillingdon. It is part of the Rosedale Hewens Academy Trust The school caters for years 7–13, teaching KS3, KS4 and A Level. Hayes, Hillingdon
Hayes is a town in west London, historically situated within the county of Middlesex, and now part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. The town's population, including its localities Hayes End, Harlington and Yeading, was recorded as 83,564 in the 2011 census. It is situated west of Charing Cross, or east of Slough.
