Ronen Har-Zvi
Ronen Har-Zvi (born 13 October 1976) is an Israeli chess player and writer. Har-Zvi won the under-16 title at the World Youth Chess Champion in 1992. He has held the title of Grandmaster of chess since 1995. Biography Growing up in Israel, Har-Zvi was taught to play chess at the age of 5 by his grandfather. In 2008, Har-Zvi finished second in the "Ciudad de Dos Hermanas", the largest online chess tournament in the world. Har-Zvi lost 3.5-0.5 in the final to the untitled Jorge Sammour-Hasbun. Har-Zvi is a regular expert commentator, host and teacher on the Internet Chess Club. He also operates an account, "Indiana-Jones", with a peak rating of 3215 for blitz chess and 2947 for bullet chess. He is a columnist for '' CHESS magazine''. Grandmaster (chess)
Grandmaster (GM) is a title awarded to chess players by the world chess organization FIDE. Apart from World Champion, Grandmaster is the highest title a chess player can attain. Once achieved, the title is held for life, though exceptionally it has been revoked for cheating. The title of Grandmaster, along with the lesser FIDE titles of International Master (IM) and FIDE Master (FM), is open to all players regardless of gender. The great majority of grandmasters are men, but 40 women have been awarded the GM title as of 2022, out of a total of about 2000 grandmasters. Since about the year 2000, most of the top 10 women have held the GM title. There is also a Woman Grandmaster title with lower requirements awarded only to women. } Saratoga is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The population was 5,141 at the 2000 census. It is also the commonly used, but not official, name for the neighboring and much more populous city, Saratoga Springs. World Youth Chess Champions
The World Youth Chess Championship is a FIDE-organized worldwide chess competition for boys and girls under the age of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. Twelve world champions are crowned every year. Gilberto Hernández Guerrero
Gilberto Hernández Guerrero (born February 4, 1970 in Ébano, San Luis Potosí) is a chess Grandmaster from Mexico. On the July 2008 FIDE rating list he has an Elo rating of 2550, making him the second highest ranked player on the Mexican ELO-list. He was the highest ranked Mexican player in most of the 1990s and 2000s. At age 5, Hernández learned the basics of chess. At age 8, he played his first tournament. As an 11-year-old he became champion of San Luis Potosí, his state, and also took the bronze medal in the World Under 12 Championship held in Xalapa, Veracruz. Despite not having a trainer, he became National Master at 14 and FIDE Master at 16 after winning the gold medal at the Pan-American Under-16 Championship in Puerto Rico.
