Ron Allbright
Ronald Philip Allbright (September 28, 1934 – July 9, 2016) was a player in the Canadian Football League for the Calgary Stampeders from 1956 to 1967. He primarily played at the offensive guard and offensive tackle positions, although he also played as a defensive end and linebacker. After playing junior football for the Calgary Bronks, Ron Allbright joined the Calgary Stampeders in 1956 and played his entire career with them until 1967. In 12 years, Allbright played in all regular season games 10 times, missing 2 in 1956 and 1961 and recovered 8 fumbles. He was part of a unit that led the league in scoring in 1963, 1964, 1965, and 1967. For his achievements, he was named to the Stampeders' McMahon Stadium Wall of Honor in 2014. He led the franchise in all-time games played upon his retirement in 1967. 1967 CFL Season
The 1967 CFL season was the tenth Canadian Football League season, and the 14th season in modern-day Canadian football. CFL news in 1967 The offices of the CFL was set up at 11 King Street, inside the Montreal Trust Building in Toronto, with Senator Keith Davey as CFL Commissioner. Later on, Davey was succeeded on Thursday, February 23 by Ted Workman and then later, Allan McEachern. The Committee on One League (COO) made recommendations to bring operating matters to be under the control of the league; it was later approved by the Board of Governors. The Canadian Rugby Union changed their name to Canadian Amateur Football Association (now Football Canada) on Sunday, January 1 and turned over the Grey Cup trophy to the CFL. Larry Robinson (Canadian Football)
Larry Robinson (April 18, 1942 – July 18, 2018) was a Canadian professional football player who played as a defensive back and placekicker for fifteen seasons in the Canadian Football League for the Calgary Stampeders from 1961 to 1975. Western Canada High School
Western Canada High School (WCHS) is a public senior high school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It has classes for grades 10 through 12. Western is located in the 17th Avenue business district of the Lower Mount Royal community, and is the most centrally located public high school in Calgary. In terms of academics, it is the top-ranked public high school in Calgary. History The original school building was completed in 1903 as an Egyptian-style exclusive high school for boys called Western Canada College (not a college in the North American sense of the word).
