Rohan Browne
Rohan Browne (born ) is an Australian dancer, actor and singer. Career Browne's career started at age 18 in the original ''The Boy From Oz'' production. He went on to appear in over 20 musicals in Australia and internationally. Musicals include: '' Grease'', "Wing" in '' Hot Shoe Shuffle'', ''Kiss Me Kate'' (Green Room Award nomination for best featured ensemble member), ''Mame'' and '' Follies''. Browne played the role of "Herod" in '' Jesus Christ Superstar'' throughout Europe and Asia. He played various roles in ''Cats'' and starred as "The Rum Tum Tugger" throughout Asia. He returned to Australia and landed the role of "Fred Casely" in '' Chicago'' and then went on to play the role of George in ''The Drowsy Chaperone'' at MTC alongside Geoffrey Rush. Christine "Christie" Whelan Browne (born 6 August 1982) is an Australian performer who has worked extensively in musical theatre as an actress, dancer and singer. She has also appeared on television shows and in films. In March 2012, she married fellow performer, Rohan Browne. Early years Christie Whelan Browne was born as Christine Whelan on 6 August 1982 in Melbourne. She grew up in the suburb of Eltham, and attended St Helena Secondary College. Whelan performed in school musicals every year from Year 7. The libretto was adapted by Giambattista Varesco from a French text by Antoine Danchet, based on a 1705 play by Crébillion père, which had been set to music by André Campra as '' Idoménée'' in 1712. The Green Room Awards are peer awards which recognise excellence in cabaret, dance, drama, fringe theatre, musical theatre and opera in Melbourne. The awards were started in 1982 when Blair Edgar and Steven Tandy formed the Green Room Awards Association. The inaugural awards ceremony was held in 1984 at the Melbourne Concert Hall.
