Captain Rogelio Castillo National Airport ( es, Aeropuerto Nacional Capitán Rogelio Castillo) is an airport serving Celaya, a city in the state of Guanajuato in Mexico. It is located 15 minutes away from downtown, and is mainly used for general aviation purposes. It is operated by "Patronato del Aeropuerto de Celaya", a government-owned corporation. The airport had a few flights to Ixtapa in November 2004 but the service was cancelled due to the very few people that bought tickets. Commercial flights began on January 22, 2007 with the route Celaya - Querétaro - Monterrey and Celaya - Querétaro - Mexico City, operated by the company Aeromar. Rogelio Yrurtia (December 6, 1879 – March 4, 1950) was a renowned Argentine sculptor of the Realist school. Life and work Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Basque immigrants in 1879, Rogelio Yrurtia enrolled in the local Society for the Promotion of Fine Arts in 1899. A talented student, he quickly earned a scholarship on which he traveled to Paris. There, he attended the prestigious Académie Julien, where he was apprenticed under Jules-Felix Coutan. Securing his first exhibition at the National Society of French Artists in 1903, he obtained a Grand Prize at the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri. Yrurtia returned to Buenos Aires in 1905, where he presented a number of exhibitions and, in 1907, was commissioned to create a monument to 1820s-era Argentine statesman Manuel Dorrego. Rogelio Salmona (April 28, 1929 – October 3, 2007) was a French Colombian architect. He was noted for his extensive use of red brick in his buildings and for using natural shapes like spirals, radial geometry and curves in his designs. During the latter part of his life, Salmona gained renown thanks to awards like the first prize at the 1986, 1988, and 1990 Colombian Architecture Biennials, and the Alvar Aalto Medal in 2003.
