Robinsons Place Metro East
Robinsons Metro East (formerly known as Robinsons Place Metro East) is a shopping mall owned by Robinsons Malls. Robinsons Metro East is situated along Marcos Highway, located at Barangay Dela Paz in Pasig, Philippines. The mall opened on November 10, 2001, is currently the 3rd largest mall in the Philippines owned by Robinsons Malls. History The location was first occupied by a Uniwide Warehouse owned by Jimmy Gow's Uniwide Sales, Inc. and was subsequently sold to Gokongwei, who demolished the warehouse. Construction of the mall began in mid-1998, and Robinsons Metro East opened its doors to the public in 2001. The name "Metro East" refers to the fact that the mall is located in the eastern district of the Greater Manila Area, which is in the boundaries of the cities of Pasig and Marikina in Metro Manila and the municipality of Cainta in Rizal. Marikina–Infanta Highway
The Marikina–Infanta Highway, also known as Marilaque Highway, as well as its former name Marcos Highway, Marilaque Road or Marikina-Infanta Road, is a scenic mountain highway that connects Metro Manila with Infanta, Quezon in the Philippines. Motorists colloquially refer to the road as Marilaque Highway. The Marikina–Infanta Highway starts at the intersection with Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City, near its boundary with Marikina, as a physical continuation of Aurora Boulevard. It traverses the Marikina Valley and passes through Antipolo, where it intersects the Sumulong Highway at the Masinag Junction. After Masinag, the road starts its ascent towards the Sierra Madre mountain range passing through Tanay, Santa Maria in Laguna, Real and finally Infanta in Quezon. Typhoon Ketsana
Typhoon Ketsana, known in the Philippines as Tropical Storm Ondoy, was the second-most devastating tropical cyclone of the 2009 Pacific typhoon season, causing $1.15 billion in damages and 921 fatalities, only behind Morakot earlier in the season, which caused 789 deaths and damages worth $6.2 billion.
