Robert Davis Farmhouse
Robert Davis Farmhouse was a historic farmhouse located near Millsboro, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built about 1900, as a two-story, five bay, single pile, wood-frame building with asbestos siding. It had a gable roof, with a cross gable and lancet window. Also on the property were two contributing log corn cribs. Millsboro, Delaware
Millsboro is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. Millsboro is part of the Salisbury metropolitan area. History Millsboro's earliest European settlers were of English family origin; though most were second generation colonists who simply migrated north from the eastern shore of Virginia in order to join in the timber drive of the later 17th century, which brought many seeking to cut the vast mixed deciduous forests. The settlement itself was created in the second half of the 17th century when settlers from Accomack County, Virginia arrived to cut timber along the drainages. At one time no less than seven lumber mills were present, the largest employing over 70 laborers. These early years are well documented in the annals of Virginia history. Sussex County is located in the southern part of the U.S. state of Delaware, on the Delmarva Peninsula. As of the 2020 census, the population was 237,378. The county seat is Georgetown. Overview After the harvest and while still on the cob, corn is placed in the crib either with or without the husk. Nanticoke Tribe
The Nanticoke people are a Native American Algonquian people, whose traditional homelands are in Chesapeake Bay and Delaware. Today they live in the Northeastern United States and Canada, especially Delaware; in Ontario; and in Oklahoma.
