Robert David Rothstein (April 20, 1948, Manhattan, New York, United States), better known as Rob Stoner, is an American multi-instrumental musician. Early life His father, Arthur Rothstein, (July 17, 1915 in New York City – November 11, 1985 in New Rochelle, New York) was an American photographer. Career Stoner started his career backing up various artists in New York City. His work can be heard on Don McLean's song " American Pie". In 1973 he began a solo career that would eventually land him a contract with Epic Records in Nashville and later with MCA Records who released the solo album, ''Patriotic Duty'', in 1980 Stoner also recorded an album of his original songs for in the early 1980s. Robert Gordon (March 29, 1947 – October 18, 2022) was an American rockabilly singer. Music career Influences and early career Gordon grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, United States, the son of Arlene and Samuel Gordon, an administrative law judge. His family was Jewish. The Bob Dylan World Tour 1978 was a concert tour by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. In 1978, Dylan embarked on a year-long world tour, performing 114 shows in Asia, Oceania, North America and Europe, to a total audience of two million people. Background For the tour, Dylan assembled an eight piece band, and was also accompanied by three backing singers. Highlights of the European leg of the tour were Dylan's first concerts in Germany where he had never wanted to play because of the Jews' persecution by the Nazis. However, after concerts at Dortmund and Berlin, he performed on July 1 on the Zeppelinfeld at Nuremberg for 80,000 people. Promoter Fritz Rau had convinced him to perform in Germany. It was the spot where Adolf Hitler had appeared prominently on his "Reichsparteitage", the party convention of the NSDAP.
