Daniel-Rops
Henri Daniel-Rops ( Épinal, 19 January 1901 – Tresserve, 27 July 1965) was a French Roman Catholic writer and historian whose real name was Henri Petiot. Biography Daniel-Rops was the son of a military officer. He was a student at the Faculties of Law and Literature in Grenoble, receiving his Agrégation in History in 1922 at the age of 21, the youngest in France. He was a professor of history in Chambéry, then in Amiens and finally in Paris. In the late 1920s he began his literary career with an essay, ''Notre inquiétude'' (''Our Anxiety'', 1926), a novel, ''L'âme obscure'' (The Dark Soul, 1929), and several articles in journals such as ''Correspondent'', ''Notre Temps'' and ''La Revue des vivants''. Daniel-Rops, who had been brought up a Roman Catholic, had by the 1920s become an agnostic. In ''Notre inquiétude'' his theme was humanity's loss of meaning and direction in an increasingly industrialized and mechanized world. When he considered the misery and social injustice ...

Rollover Protection Structure
A rollover protection structure or rollover protection system (ROPS) ( or ) is a system or structure intended to protect equipment operators and motorists from injuries caused by vehicle overturns or rollovers. Like rollcages and rollbars in cars and trucks, cabs, frames or rollbars on agricultural and construction equipments, a ROPS involves mechanical components attached to the frame of the vehicle that maintain a clearance zone large enough to protect the operator's body in the event of rollover. Commonly found on heavy equipment (i.e. tractors), earth-moving machinery and UTVs used in construction, agriculture and mining, ROPS structures are defined by various regulatory agencies, including US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)''See'' OSHA Roll-Over Protective Structures, Direct Final Rule.' and international standard organizations such as ISO and OECD. The regulations include both a strength requirement as well as an energy absorption requirement of ...

Runway Overrun Prevention System
ROPS (Runway Overrun Prevention System) is a technology used in the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft, which is designed to prevent the overshooting of the runway as the plane is landing. Airbus tested the system at Rovaniemi Airport in Finland during the winter of 2016. References A350 The Airbus A350 is a long-range, wide-body twin-engine jet airliner developed and produced by Airbus. The first A350 design proposed by Airbus in 2004, in response to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, would have been a development of the A330 w ...

Render Output Unit
In computer graphics, the render output unit (ROP) or raster operations pipeline is a hardware component in modern graphics processing units (GPUs) and one of the final steps in the rendering process of modern graphics cards. The pixel pipelines take pixel (each pixel is a dimensionless point) and texel information and process it, via specific matrix and vector operations, into a final pixel or depth value; this process is called rasterization. Thus, ROPs control antialiasing, when more than one sample is merged into one pixel. The ROPs perform the transactions between the relevant buffers in the local memory – this includes writing or reading values, as well as blending them together. Dedicated antialiasing hardware used to perform hardware-based antialiasing methods like MSAA is contained in ROPs. All data rendered has to travel through the ROP in order to be written to the framebuffer, from there it can be transmitted to the display. Therefore, the ROP is where the GP ...
