Daniel Gisriel Rider, Jr. (23 July 23, 1938, Boston – 11 July 2008, Madison, Wisconsin) was a mathematician, specializing in harmonic analysis and Fourier analysis. After spending his childhood in New England, Daniel Rider moved with his family to Santa Ana, California, where he graduated from secondary school. He received his bachelor's degree from Stanford University and in 1964 his PhD under Walter Rudin from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with thesis ''Gap Series, and Measures of Spheres''. The Big 3 was an American folk trio consisting of singer Cass Elliot (1941–1974), singer-songwriter-banjo player Tim Rose (1940–2002), and singer-guitarist Jim Hendricks (b. 1940). Career In 1962, Tim Rose and John Brown met Cass Elliot in Georgetown, DC: "After trying a few songs together, they went on the road as The Triumvirate. In Omaha, Nebraska, they recruited James Hendricks before heading for New York City as The Big Three." Brown appears to have been left behind. The Rider Broncs are the athletic teams of Rider University, a private nonsectarian university in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, United States. The school is a Division I member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and its athletes compete in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). For wrestling only, Rider is an affiliate member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The intercollegiate sports program at Rider was started by coach Clair Bee in the 1920s. Honeychile Rider is a fictional character in Ian Fleming's James Bond novel '' Dr. No''. In the 1962 Bond film of the same name, her name was shortened and changed to Honey Ryder. In the film, she is played by Swiss actress Ursula Andress and due to her heavy accent was dubbed by Nikki van der Zyl. In the film series, Ryder is widely regarded as the first Bond girl, although she is not the first woman in the film to be with Bond (that distinction belongs to Sylvia Trench, while Miss Taro was Bond's first mission-related "conquest"). Rider is a publishing imprint of Ebury Publishing, a Penguin Random House division. The list was started by William Rider & Son in Britain in 1908 when he took over the occult publisher Phillip Wellby. The editorial director of the new list was Ralph Shirley and under his direction, they began to publish titles as varied as the Rider–Waite tarot deck and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Today the Rider motto is "New Ideas for New Ways of Living" and books and authors on the list reflects this.
