Richard Knighton
Air Marshal Sir Richard John Knighton, (born 1969) is a senior Royal Air Force officer and engineer. Since May 2022, he has served as Deputy Commander Capability at Air Command. Previously, he served as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (2015 to 2017) and Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Financial and Military Capability) (2018 to 2022) at the Ministry of Defence. Early life Knighton was educated at Hatton Secondary School. As a University Cadet sponsored by the Royal Air force, he studied engineering at Clare College, Cambridge. He graduated in 1991 with a first class Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree; as per tradition, his BA was later promoted to a Master of Arts (MA Cantab) degree. The Royal Air Force (RAF) is the United Kingdom's air and space force. Panavia Tornado ADV
The Panavia Tornado Air Defence Variant (ADV) was a long-range, twin-engine interceptor version of the swing-wing Panavia Tornado. The aircraft's first flight was on 27 October 1979, and it entered service with the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1986. It was also operated by the Italian Air Force (AMI) and the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). The Tornado ADV was originally designed to intercept Soviet bombers as they were traversing across the North Sea with the aim of preventing a successful air-launched nuclear attack against the United Kingdom. In this capacity, it was equipped with a powerful radar and beyond-visual-range missiles; however, initial aircraft produced to the F2 standard lacked radars due to development issues. Robert Magowan
Lieutenant General Robert Andrew Magowan, (born 12 September 1967) is a senior Royal Marines officer who serves as the Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff (Financial and Military Capability) since May 2022. He previously served as Commandant General Royal Marines from 2016 to 2017 and again from 2021 to 2022. Mark Poffley
Lieutenant General Sir Mark William Poffley, (born 1960) is a former senior British Army officer. Military career Poffley was commissioned into the Royal Army Ordnance Corps in 1985. After seeing action in the Gulf War and then in the Bosnian War, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff for 24 Airmobile Brigade and then as Staff Officer responsible for Plans and Doctrine in the Attack Helicopter Team. He became commanding officer of 13 Air Assault Support Regiment in 2001, and was deployed to Macedonia in August of that year and Afghanistan in 2002.
