Mehrak Golestan ( fa, مهرک گلستان; born 29 December 1983) is a British rapper of Iranian peoples, Iranian descent. He appeared on the BBC current affairs programme ''Newsnight'' on 9 August 2011 discussing the London riots of 2011. He is the son of Iranian photographers Kaveh Golestan and Hengameh Golestan, and the grandson of writer and film director Ebrahim Golestan. Tehran
Tehran (; fa, تهران ) is the largest city in Tehran Province and the capital of Iran. Hengameh Golestan
Hengameh Golestan ( fa, هنگامه گلستان; born Hengameh Jalali (), 1952) is an Iranian photographer. She is considered a pioneer among Iranian women photographers. In March 1979, when in the aftermath of the Iranian Revolution women in Iran began protesting the new government's rule ordering them to wear hijabs, she photographed the gatherings in the capital, in the process becoming one of few documentary photographers active in the country. Life and work Golestan began working as a photographer at the age of 18; for a while she attended photography school in England, but otherwise she learned the craft from working as an assistant to her husband, photojournalist Kaveh Golestan; the couple had married in 1975, and later had a son, Mehrak. Hasan Salaam (born January 12, 1981) is an American rapper and sex educator born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. Yassin Alsalman, better known by his stage name Narcy (formerly The Narcicyst), is an Iraqi-Canadian rapper, author, university instructor and actor. He currently resides in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Biography Alsalman's parents are originally from Basra, Iraq but emigrated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the 1970s. Yassin was born in Dubai in 1982. DAM ( ar, دام) is a Palestinian hip-hop group. DAM was founded in 1999 by brothers Tamer and Suhell Nafar and their friend Mahmoud Jreri. Their songs are largely about racism, freedom, Israeli occupation and poverty . DAM raps primarily in Arabic, but also in English. DAM has released more than 100 singles and three albums—''Dedication'', ''Dabke on the Moon'' and ''Ben Haana Wa Maana''—as well as an EP—Street Poetry.
