Remo Bertoni
Remo Bertoni (21 June 1909 – 18 September 1973) was an Italian professional road bicycle racer. Bertoni was born in Borgomanero. He is best known for his silver medal in the Elite race of the 1932 UCI Road World Championships. He died, aged 64, in Milan. Borgomanero, Italy
Borgomanero ( pms, Borbané; lmo, Borbanee) is a (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italy, Italian region Piedmont, located about northeast of Turin, about northwest of Novara and about 60 km northwest of Milan. Borgomanero borders the following municipalities: Bogogno, Briga Novarese, Cressa, Piedmont, Cressa, Cureggio, Fontaneto d'Agogna, Gargallo, Piedmont, Gargallo, Gattico-Veruno, Gozzano, Piedmont, Gozzano, Invorio, Maggiora. Borgomanero has a railway station, served by the Santhià–Arona railway and the Novara-Domodossola railway. History Legend has it that a group of thirteen people, called the Thirteen Orcs (Trözz 'Orchi in dialect form), returning from a pilgrimage to the shrine on the nearby island of San Giulio (Lake Orta), founded the first nucleus of the city, on the banks of the Agogna.
