Jenny Randles
Jenny Randles is a British author and former director of investigations with the British UFO Research Association (BUFORA), serving in that role from 1982 through to 1994. Career Randles specializes in writing books on UFOs and paranormal phenomena. To date 50 of these have been published, ranging from her first ''UFOs: A British Viewpoint'' (1979) to ''Breaking the Time Barrier: The race to build the first time machine'' (2005). Subjects covered include crop circles, ESP, life after death, time anomalies and spontaneous human combustion. She has also written skeptical investigations solving cases - including, co-authored with Dr David Clarke and Andy Roberts, ''The UFOs That Never Were'' (London House, 2000). Elizabeth Randles
Elizabeth Randles (1 August 1800 – 6 May 1829), also known as "Little Cambrian Prodigy", was a Welsh harpist and pianist. A child prodigy, she started playing the piano at the age of sixteen months, and performed in public for the first time before she was two years old. Randles was taught by her blind father who was organist at the Holywell parish church. She performed for local aristocracy, leading to a performance for King George III and his royal family when she was three and a half. Caroline, Princess of Wales, hoped to adopt her but her father did not allow it. She did, however, spend a few days at the Princess of Wales' summer home, often playing with Princess Charlotte of Wales. Randles went on to tour the country as a child, performing with John Parry. In 1808, she returned home and learned the harp. She went on to take lessons from Friedrich Kalkbrenner before moving to Liverpool and becoming a teacher. Jan Randles (born 23 August 1945) is a Paralympic athletics competitor from Australia who competed in the 1984 New York/Stoke Mandeville Paralympics and won two medals - gold and bronze. She was the first female Australian Paralympian to win a Paralympic Games marathon. The next woman win a Paralympic marathon was Madison de Rozario at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. Personal Randles was born on 23 August 1945 in Melbourne. In 1974 whilst holidaying in Bali, she fell off a motorbike and broke her back. John Scurrah Randles
Sir John Scurrah Randles (25 December 1857 – 11 February 1945) was a British businessman and Conservative politician. Biography John Scurrah Randles was born on Christmas Day, 25 December 1857 in Boston, Lincolnshire, the son of a Wesleyan minister, Rev. Marshall Randles D.D (1826–1904) and Sarah Dewhurst. He was educated at the Woodhouse Grove School in Lincolnshire and lived at Bristowe Hill, Keswick, Cumbria. In 1883 Randles married Elizabeth Hartley (? - 1853). An industrialist in the coal and steel business, amongst his positions he was the chairman and managing director of the Moss Bay Hematite Iron and Steel Company and a director of the Workington Iron and the Beckermet Mining Companies. Paul John Leonard Randles (21 May 1922 – 1 May 1979) was a South African cricketer, rugby player and lawyer. He played first-class cricket for Natal between 1952 and 1957. Paul Randles was born in Pietermaritzburg in Natal and educated at Hilton College, where he was head boy. He volunteered in World War II, serving in the Umvoti Mounted Rifles. He was taken prisoner at the fall of Tobruk in June 1942 and held in several PoW camps in Italy (PG 60, PG 41, PG 49 and Dulag 226). When the Italian Armistice was announced on 8 September 1943 he was released by the camp commandant and remained a fugitive for four months. During December 1943 he was sheltered and fed by the Pellegrini family near San Donato Val di Comino. In January 1944 he was recaptured by the Germans and imprisoned in Stalag VII-A, Moosburg. In electrochemistry, a Randles circuit is an equivalent electrical circuit that consists of an active electrolyte resistance in series with the parallel combination of the double-layer capacitance and an impedance () of a faradaic reaction. It is commonly used in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for interpretation of impedance spectra, often with a constant phase element (CPE) replacing the double layer capacity. Joshua Randles (June 1865 – 17 October 1925) was an English footballer who was a one club man for Burslem Port Vale between 1885 and 1899. Career Randles probably joined Burslem Port Vale in the autumn of 1885. His first known game was at left-half in a 6–0 triumph over Cheshire side Crewe Alexandra in a friendly on 26 October 1885. He enjoyed regular football from September 1888 to February 1889, but played only occasional football thereafter. Tom Randles (hurler)
Tom Randles is a former hurler from Kilgarvan County Kerry. He played hurling for the Kilgarvan club in the 1950s up to the 1980s, winning County Championships in 1956 and 1958. In 2008, he made headlines by playing a full 60-minute match for Kilgarvan at the age of 71, fifty years after winning his last county championship. He also played football with Kilgarvan.
