''Raisa'' is a short film directed and written by Pavel Cuzuioc starring Cristina Flutur. Synopsis Moldova. One winter day, Raisa travels into the city hoping to get something that could change her life. Production notes Raisa was filmed during five days in January 2015 on locations in Chisinau and surroundings. The script is based on non-fictional stories by Aurelia Zavtoni. Post-production took place in Vienna, Austria. The film is starring Cristina Flutur, who won the Palme d'Or for best Actress in the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Cristina Flutur
Cristina Flutur is a Romanian film and theatre actress. In 2012 she made her debut in cinema, portraying the complex Alina Ringhis, main character in Cristian Mungiu's praised drama, Beyond the Hills. For her outstanding performance in this film she received the Best Actress Award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Before 2012, she performed for several years in theatre productions, both in Romania, on the stage of the Radu Stanca National Theatre in Sibiu, and abroad, when on tour with the ensemble. Biography After finishing high school, Mathematics and Physics department, she decided to study Romanian and English languages and literature, along with American literature, at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in her hometown. Pavel Cuzuioc
Pavel Cuzuioc (born 1978) is an Austrian, Moldovan, Romanian filmmaker. Early life and education Cuzuioc was born in Moldova. After studying law in Bucharest, Romania, he graduated from the State University of Moldova. In 2000, Pavel moved to Austria, where he took a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Studies at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. From 2003, he followed courses on film directing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, and since then has been working as a filmmaker in Austria, Romania, and Moldova. The Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) is an annual film festival in Fribourg, Switzerland. It is focused on selected films from Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Grand Prize is the main award of the Fribourg International Film Festival.
