Ragnvald Skrede
Ragnvald Skrede (24 April 1904 – 16 August 1983) was a Norwegian author, journalist, literature critic and translator. Biography Ragnvald Skrede was born in Vågå in Oppland county, Norway. Skrede was the youngest of seven children. He was a student at Elverum teacher school (1921–24). In 1928, he was hired as a teacher and sexton in Rauland, in Telemark. He studied at the University of Oslo (1928–1934). In 1934, he became a teacher in Vågå. In the postwar years, Skrede worked as a journalist and literary critic for ''Verdens Gang'' and ''Dagbladet'' and a theater critic for '' Bondebladet''. Skrede was 45 years old when he began his writing in the year 1949. As a poet, he often used the classic and permanent stanza forms. His authorship was humanistic and characterized by historic knowledge. Ragnvald Skrede was a Norwegian member of the jury for the Nordic Council's Literature Prize from 1969. Vågå () is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Vågåmo. Other village areas in Vågå include Lalm and Bessheim. The municipality is the 73rd largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Norwegian Critics Prize For Literature
The Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature (''Den norske Kritikerprisen for litteratur'' or ''Kritikerprisen'') is awarded by the Norwegian Literature Critics' Association (''Norsk Litteraturkritikerlag'') and has been awarded every year since 1950. The prize is presented to a Norwegian author for a literary work as agreed to among the members of the Norwegian Literature Critics' Association. Since 1978 the Norwegian Literature Critics' Association has also awarded a prize for the best work of children's literature. In 2003 the Critics Prize for the year's best work of translation was established, and in 2012 the Critics Prize for the year's best work of nonfiction for adults was established.
