Radio Sargam
Radio Sargam is a nationwide commercial Hindi FM radio station in Fiji. It is owned by the Communications Fiji Limited (CFL), the company which owns FM96-Fiji, Viti FM, Legend FM and Radio Navtarang. Radio Sargam is broadcasting on three frequencies: 103.4 FM in Suva, Navua, Nausori, Labasa, Nadi and Lautoka; 103.2 FM in Savusavu, Coral Coast, Ba and Tavua; and on 103.8 FM in Rakiraki. Sargam can be accessed online for free. The station went on air for the first time on March 31, 2004. Mirchi FM is a "Fiji Hindi" language radio station in Fiji. The station broadcasts on the 97.8 frequency to the cities of Suva, Navua, Nausori, Labasa, Savusavu, Nadi, Denarau, Mamanuca and Lautoka. The station also broadcasts on the 97.6 MHz frequency to the towns of Coral Coast and Ba. The station broadcasts on 98.0 megahertz to the town of Tavua, and on 98.2 megahertz to Rakiraki and Nabouwalu. Mirchi FM is Fiji's first Hindi FM radio. It is operated by Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, the company which also owns FBC TV, Radio Fiji One, Radio Fiji Two, Bula FM, 2day FM-Fiji, and Gold FM-Fiji in Fiji. Mirchi FM was launched as Radio Rajdhani on 1 July 1989, and was rebranded as Bula 98 FM in 1998. Radio Fiji Two is a Hindi language - public service broadcaster in Fiji. Fiji Broadcasting Corporation
The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) is one of the two radio broadcasters in Fiji. It was known as Fiji Broadcasting Commission when it began. It traces its history to 1935 when it first began operating under licence from the Posts and Telegraphs Department with the call sign ZJV. At the end of 1952, the legislative council passed the Broadcasting Commission Bill. The commission members were appointed in June 1953. On 1 July 1954, the commission's first programme was broadcast as part of the official opening ceremony. In January 1998 the Fiji Broadcasting Commission was corporated under the government's public sector reform programme and renamed Island Networks Corporation Limited. In June 1999, the new Government led to another change in name – this time to the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Limited. Rakiraki District, Fiji
Rakiraki () is a district in Fiji's Ra Province. It is located between Tavua and Korovou when travelling along the Kings Road, on the northern coast of Viti Levu, Fiji's largest island. At the 1996 census, the Rakiraki district had a population of 29,137, with 15,325 in the smaller Rakiraki sub-district. Of these, 3361 lived in Vaileka, Rakiraki's principal urban centre. The Fiji Times reported on 4 October 2006 that Uraia Waqa, Chairman of the Rakiraki Local Government Authority, had called for Vaileka to be officially incorporated as a Town in order to attract government investment. Tavua District
Tavua is a district in the Western Division on the north west coast of the island of Viti Levu in Fiji. It is part of the province of Ba. It is situated some 20 kilometers by road from Ba town. Its main economy is sugar cane, although the establishment of Tavua township was the result of a gold mine in Vatukoula, which is in the interior of Viti Levu but easily accessible from Tavua. A wharf, used by the mine, also exists at Vatia a few kilometres near the coast. The wharf is of historical significance as it was used as the main route of transportation from Suva to the western districts before the coastal road was built. The district is home to Tavua F.C. Ba District, Fiji
Ba is a district situated on the north western part of the island of Viti Levu in Fiji. The name Ba is also used for a province, a ''tikina'' (a native Fijian administrative region comprising several villages), a town and a river. Ba district comprises the areas surrounding Ba Town and includes the Fijian administrative tikinas of Ba and Magodro. Ba district is in the Western Division. Ba is a sugar cane growing district and sugar cane farming and employment in the Ba Sugar Mill are the main areas of employment. Some 80 percent of the residents of Ba District are of Indian origin. Savusavu
Savusavu () is a town in the Fijian Province of Cakaudrove. The town is located on the south coast of Vanua Levu Island and had a population of 3,372 in the 2007 census. Savusavu is known as "the hidden paradise of Fiji." Geography Savusavu is located on Fiji's northern island of Vanua Levu. It can be reached by plane from Nadi (one hour) or by ferry from Suva or Lautoka (approx 12-hour trip). It's famous for its hot springs, located mostly opposite the Hot Springs Hotel – although at low tide you can see the steam from numerous smaller outlets all along the foreshore. Lautoka District
Lautoka () is the second largest city in Fiji. It is on the west coast of the island of Viti Levu, in the Ba Province of the Western Division. Lying in the heart of Fiji's sugar cane-growing region, the city has come to be known as the Sugar City. Covering an area of 32 square kilometres, it had a population of 71,573 at the 2017 census, the most recent to date.
