RS Productions
''RS Productions'' was an Australian television and radio production company best known for producing the 1980-1984 sitcom ''Kingswood Country''. The company was founded by Gary Reilly and Tony Sattler, originally to produce comic sketches such as ''The Novels of Fiona Wintergreen'' and "anti-ads" (satirical advertisements for fictitious company ''Product Name'') for ABC youth radio 2JJ and for its "Local Radio" network. Titles included ''Chuck Chunder of the Space Patrol'' (1975), ''Doctors and Nurses'' (1976) and ''The Naked Vicar Show'' (1976–77), for which a compilation of highlights is available. A television version of ''The Naked Vicar Show'' was broadcast by Channel Seven (1977–78). One of its regular sketches became the basis for the hit series ''Kingswood Country''. Gary Reilly
Gary Reilly (born New Zealand, 1945) is an Australian radio and television producer and writer. He is known for his work on a variety of comedy series such as ''The Naked Vicar Show'', ''Kingswood Country'', '' Hey Dad..!'' and '' Bullpitt!''. He won several Australian Writers Guild awards and Logies, as well as being inducted into the Australian Writers' Hall Of Fame. Career Reilly started work as a trainee with the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation in 1964, working in various production roles before he moved to advertising; working mostly freelance in most of the industry's creative departments: as writer, art director, production manager, director and MC in New Zealand and Great Britain, then from 1970, in Australia. ''The Naked Vicar Show'' is a satirical Australian radio and television series. The classic Australian sitcom ''Kingswood Country'' was spawned from sketches in the series. Production The series was written and produced by Gary Reilly and Tony Sattler and made by their company RS Productions for ABC Radio's Double J, (later Triple J when the station changed from AM to FM), before making a record titled ''The Naked Vicar Show'' in 1975 (containing highlights from season 1) and being adapted successfully for television by Channel Seven. ''Kingswood Country'' is an Australian sitcom that screened from 1980 to 1984 on the Seven Network. The series started on 30 January 1980 and was a spin-off from the sketch on comedy program ''The Naked Vicar Show'' that had featured Ross Higgins as blustering suburban father, Ted Bullpitt. ''Bullpitt!'' was a short-lived Australian television comedy series which screened in 1997 to 1998 on the Seven Network, reprising the main character in the 1980s sitcom ''Kingswood Country''. It was written by Gary Reilly and Tony Sattler. ''Bullpitt!'' saw the return of the character Ted Bullpitt, portrayed by (Ross Higgins) who is now single and retired, living in a retirement home. He is still complaining and repeating many of his catchphrases from ''Kingswood Country'' such as "Pickle me grandmother!". Also in the cast Elaine Lee, Peter Whitford, Bruce Spence, Vanessa Downing, Jacqueline Brennan and Kirstie Hutton. Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
