Russ Carnahan
John Russell Carnahan (born July 10, 1958) is an American politician from the state of Missouri. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the U.S. representative for from 2005 to 2013. At the time, the district included the southern third of the city of St. Louis (known as South City) and most of the southern St. Louis suburbs including most of Jefferson County and all of Ste. Genevieve County. Some cities located in the district include: Webster Groves, Mehlville, Affton, and Oakville, and the southern suburbs of Arnold, Herculaneum, Pevely, Crystal City, Barnhart, Imperial, and Festus, as well as Ste. Genevieve in the neighboring Ste. Genevieve County. Dramatic losses in population in St. Louis in the 2010 Census contributed to Missouri losing a Congressional seat effective 2013. Missouri Democratic Party
The Missouri Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the U.S. state of Missouri. Its chair is Russ Carnahan, the vice chair is Yvonne Reeves-Chong, the treasurer is Glenda Bainbridge, and the secretary is Joshua Dunne. Although the party was in the majority in state government as recently as the 1990s, the rival Republican Party has since substantially overtaken it. Festus is a city situated in Jefferson County, Missouri, United States, and is also a suburb of St. Louis. It had a population of 12,706 individuals as of the 2020 census. Imperial, Missouri
Imperial is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, Missouri, United States, and is a suburb of St. Louis. The population was 4,947 at the 2020 census. Imperial was originally known as West Kimmswick, the historic Catholic church of St. John’s in Imperial, became an independent parish in 1869. Geography Imperial is located in northeastern Jefferson County and is bordered to the north by Arnold, to the south by Barnhart, and to the east by the Mississippi River, which forms the Illinois state line. Barnhart is a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, Missouri, United States. Barnhart is also a suburb of St. Louis. History The land surrounding Barnhart originally belonged to Benjamin O'Fallon, who settled here with his family in 1834. The James O'Fallon Home was built in 1860, and was purchased in 1884 by Joseph G. Marriott, a cattle rancher who introducing the first Holstein cattle to Jefferson County. The extant home is now called the Parkton Mansion. The town was not named until after the Frisco Railroad was completed in the early 1900s, and may have been named for Mrs. C. L.
