Runcorn And Helsby
Runcorn and Helsby is a constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. Further to the completion of the 2023 review of Westminster constituencies, it was first contested at the 2024 general election. The incumbent MP is Sarah Pochin, who defeated Labour Party candidate Karen Shore by six votes at a by-election on 1 May 2025, overturning a 34.8% majority. It was reported that she is the first non-Labour MP elected in Runcorn in over fifty years though this is not correct as the Runcorn and Helsby constituency was only created in 2024 - before this, the constituency was called Weaver Vale which had a Conservative MP, Graham Evans, from 2010 to 2017. 2023 Periodic Review Of Westminster Constituencies
The 2023 review of Westminster constituencies was the most recent cycle of the process to redraw the Constituencies of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, constituency map for the House of Commons of the United Kingdom. The new constituency boundaries were approved by the Privy Council (United Kingdom), Privy Council on 15 November 2023 and came into law on 29 November. It is the first review of Westminster boundaries to be successfully implemented since Fifth periodic review of Westminster constituencies, 2010. Howling Laud Hope
Alan Hope (born 16 June 1942), known politically as Howling Laud Hope, is a British politician and former publican who is the current Leader of the Official Monster Raving Loony Party (OMRLP). On the death of the party's founder Screaming Lord Sutch in 1999, Hope and his pet cat, Catmando, were jointly elected as leaders of the OMRLP. Since June 2002 Hope has been the party's sole leader following Catmando's death in a road accident. Hope was the first-ever OMRLP candidate to be elected to public office, when he was elected unopposed to a seat on Ashburton Town Council in Devon in 1987. John Christopher Courtenay Stevens (born 23 May 1955) is a British politician active in Rejoin EU. A Conservative Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1989 to 1999, he contested the Buckingham constituency in the 2010 general election as an independent, against Commons speaker John Bercow and came second with 10,331 votes (21.4%) compared to Bercow's 22,860 (47.3%). Dunham-on-the-Hill
Dunham-on-the-Hill is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Dunham-on-the-Hill and Hapsford, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester, and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is on the A56 road, approximately from Helsby and from Chester. The village is above sea level, south west of Helsby Hill. Originally a small hamlet, it has gradually enlarged over the twentieth century, although the village retains a semi-rural character. Elton is a village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, Cheshire, England, northeast of Chester, between Helsby and Ellesmere Port, near the River Mersey.
