Rudsgrendi
Rudsgrendi or Rugsgrend is a village in Notodden Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The village is located on the western shore of the large lake Tinnsjå, halfway between the village of Gransherad and the town of Rjukan. On the opposite side of the lake lies the village of Hovin. The village of Tinnoset lies about to the south. History In the mid-nineteenth century Rudsgrendi was administratively a part of Tinn, but the area became a part of the new Gransherad Municipality in 1860. In 1886, the Hovin area was separated from Gransherad to form a new municipality of its own. Hovin, Telemark
Hovin is a former municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1886 until its dissolution in 1964. The area is now divided between Tinn Municipality and Notodden Municipality. The administrative centre was the village of Hovin. The other main village in the municipality was Rudsgrendi on the opposite side of the lake Tinnsjå. History The municipality was established on 1 January 1886 when the municipality of Gransherad was divided into two: Hovin in the north (population: 885) and Gransherad in the south (population: 1,393). Tinnsjå
Tinnsjå (also known as ''Tinnsjø'' or ''Tinnsjøen''; ) is one of the largest List of Norwegian Lakes, lakes in Norway measuring about . At a depth of it is the third List of lakes by depth, deepest lake in Norway and Europe. Tinnsjå is located in the municipalities of Tinn and Notodden in Telemark county. At its source in the west, the Måna river flows out of the lake Møsvatn and past the town of Rjukan into Tinnsjå. From the north, the river Mår (river), Mår flows from the lakes Mår (lake), Mår, Gøystavatn, and Kalhovdfjorden into Tinnsjå. Tinnsjå is part of the Skien watershed, and it drains via the Tinnelva river in the south, down to the lake Heddalsvatn. Telemark

Gransherad Municipality
Gransherad is a former municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1860 until its dissolution in 1964. The area is now part of Notodden Municipality (in Telemark) and Kongsberg Municipality (in Buskerud). The administrative centre was the village of Gransherad where Gransherad Church is located. Tinnoset
Tinnoset is a village in Notodden Municipality in Telemark county, Norway. The village is located at the southernmost end of the large lake Tinnsjå, where the river Tinnelva begins flowing south out of the lake. It is about south of the village of Rudsgrendi, about north of the village of Gransherad, and about to the west of the village of Bolkesjø. Transportation Tinnoset Station is the terminus of the Tinnoset Line, a long railway line that went from Tinnoset to the town of Notodden. Tinnoset Station was located adjacent to the docks at the south end of lake Tinnsjå. From 1909 until 1991, these docks connected the Tinnsjø railway ferry system to the Tinnoset Line in the south.
